~ To Transcend~
The orange alabaster that this bronze sculpture
was cast from, was a spiritual journey into the world of working with stone. This alabaster gave me great insight into what secrets the stone has in waiting. Everything from quartz like consistency to fragile sandy areas to areas that seemed like I was chipping to get through granite, brought the realization home that I was not going to allow the alabaster to do the decision making.

The challenge to form what I had in mind and what the stone would become, became an intoxicating endeavor! Sometimes I just work unknowingly as the excitement of what is being created becomes!!
